Captain Vikram Batra, popularly remembered as the "Shershah of Kargil", was awarded the Param Vir Chakra posthumously for his extraordinary courage during the Kargil War (1999). His iconic success signal was “Yeh Dil Mange More”.
On 20 June 1999, he captured Point 5140. On 7 July 1999, while leading the assault on Point 4875, he killed five enemy soldiers at point-blank range and sustained serious injuries. Despite his injuries, his dauntless determination inspired his men to clear the enemy. He later succumbed to his injuries, but his leadership encouraged his company to avenge his death and capture Point 4875.

Birsa Munda (15 November 1875 – 9 June 1900) was a revered tribal freedom fighter, spiritual leader, and folk hero from the Munda tribe. He is affectionately known as Dharti Aaba — Father of the Land. He led the historic Ulgulan (Great Rebellion) from 1899 to 1900, fighting against British colonial rule and for tribal rights. He advocated for “Munda Raj” — a just and self-governed society.
On his 150th birth anniversary (Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas, 15 November 2024), the Department of Posts released a commemorative postage stamp designed by Shri Sankha Samanta. The stamp features Birsa Munda addressing his followers, symbolizing tribal unity, empowerment, and self-governance.
