"First days are the hardest. My parents said, 'Just be yourself, Jamie. You'll make friends in no time.' But how do you be yourself when you’re surrounded by strangers who already seem to know who they are?
The teacher introduced me to the class: 'Everyone, this is Jamie, our new student.' I waved. Nobody waved back."

(Jamie lowers their head, the classroom lights dim, and the schoolyard area lights up.)

Scene 2: Struggling to Fit In

(Jamie walks to the schoolyard, sitting on the bench.)

Jamie:

The teacher said, 'Great! You’ll be the finale!' Finale? My heart sank. How could I end a show when I could barely introduce myself?"

Scene 4: The Big Moment

Jamie (narrating):
"Friday came, and I stood behind the curtain, shaking. I heard applause and cheers for the other performers. Then it was my turn. The teacher whispered, 'You’ll be great.'
I stepped on stage. My hands trembled as I started to draw. First, a few lines. Then shapes. Slowly, the image came to life—a soaring eagle, wings spread wide, free and untamed."
